Account Executive - London

FloodFlash is an insurance startup, created to help the millions of homes and businesses around the world that can’t get access to affordable flood protection. We offer ‘event-based’ insurance, where a settlement is contingent only on the occurrence of a flood, rather than the sum of damages that it causes. Backed by some great VC investors who share our vision for the growth (and impact) of this kind of insurance, we are just over a year old. We work closely with our distribution partners to support them in supplying FloodFlash policies to their clients. The role of Account Executive is crucial to drive expansion of our customer base by growing partner opportunities into long-term relationships based on trust and mutual success.


What we want you to do

• Become a trusted link between FloodFlash and our distribution partners: providing them with professional support and responding to their needs quickly and accurately
• Identify challenges that our partners and customers face and discover the best ways for FloodFlash to make their lives easier
• Develop materials and tools to support our partners as they distribute FloodFlash policies
• Develop and improve how we train and onboard partners
• Research and analyse new and existing markets to identify to new commercial prospects
• Take part in the negotiation of commercial agreements alongside FloodFlash’s founding team
• Work collaboratively with FloodFlash’s technology team to shape the development of our software platform, using feedback from your partner contacts
• Analyse how our partners are performing (our data team can help), and generate insights to help our partners become more productive
• Build out the FloodFlash CRM, maintaining accurate records of all of our interactions with brokers and partners
• Use all of the above to develop and grow our distribution partnerships as we look to scale in the UK, US, and beyond


What skills and experience you will need

• Previous experience handling commercial relationships in an insurance role
• You’ll be a reliable professional, able to balance customer needs with delivery of FloodFlash’s business goals
• Experience performing research to identify commercial opportunities
• You can demonstrate excellent communications skills (in person, written and on the phone) and calmness under pressure
• Previous experience with CRM systems
• Excitement about the opportunity for technology to change the world of insurance, and about providing affordable protection to those in the highest risk areas around the world
• You are always learning, you love a team environment and are able to get stuff done



• Salary from £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
• An equity stake in the company through our employee stock options scheme
